Signature Shows
Encore’s flagship advanced productions. Part of 0.0 - Signature Stages — full, story-driven musicals with complete production values, operating at the intersection of rigorous artistic training and compassionate mentorship.
Program Overview
Signature Shows operate at the intersection of rigorous artistic training and compassionate mentorship, demanding professional-level commitment while maintaining the educational support that allows young artists to take creative risks. Each full, story-driven musical features complete production values including sets, costumes, lighting, and sound, running for approximately a dozen performances.
Our staff- and faculty-led mentorship creates a safe space for young artists to discover, develop, and grow their unique voice while immersing themselves in storytelling and the art of performance.

Acting Theory Curriculum
Signature Shows commonly pair the production process with a weekly acting class grounded in major theorists of stage acting — Linklater, Chekhov, Bogart, Stanislavski, Hagen, Meisner, Johnstone — applied to the production’s actual script. The curriculum is one of the things that makes Signature Shows distinct from Emerging Artist Shows: artists are now thinking critically about why and how acting works, not just executing.
Where Signature Shows Fit
Signature Shows are the entry point into 0.0 - Signature Stages — the natural next step after a young artist has progressed through 0.0 - Junior Stages (Camps → Junior Shows → Emerging Artist Shows). The next step beyond Signature Shows is Show with a Pro, which adds integrated professional guest artists to the Signature Show format.
Operational Notes
A Signature Show is a full Encore production process — see Production Bible for the framework. The Director’s Guide applies in full, especially the sections on working with young artists and the canonical Transitions section. Music Supervisor’s Guide and Choreographer’s Guide cover the music and movement disciplines. The full role pool (Director, Music Supervisor Director, Choreographer, Stage Manager, Production Manager, Technical Director, all designers) is typically engaged.
