Encore has two Programs Directors — one for Senior Programs and one for Junior Programs — both serving in Producer roles within the organization. This doc holds the full role description for each.

Senior Programs Director
Introduction

- Program Director Boundaries: It is unnecessary and often inappropriate for the Program Director to be actively involved in the rehearsal process or to communicate directly with creative or production team members on production-related matters unless it is vital or the Production Manager and Stage Manager are unavailable. Maintaining this boundary ensures that creative teams, production teams, and families understand the chain of command.
- On rare occasion, it is appropriate for the Program Director to attend rehearsal simply to observe, offer encouragement, or greet the cast and team.
Technical Rehearsals
- Program Director Boundaries: The Program Director should not be involved in running or directing technical rehearsals. Responsibility for this process rests with the Production Manager, Stage Manager, and creative team.
- The Program Director may attend briefly to observe, but should not interfere, direct, or take an active role.
Performance and Closing
- Serve as a professional and supportive representative of the program during the performance run, acting as the welcoming face for families and cast members.
