Pillars of Respect and Professionalism
At Encore, we strive to provide the most positive experience possible. In order to obtain that, we ask that all who participate in our productions adhere to the following guidelines:
At Encore we:
-
Do hard things: We strive to challenge ourselves and do our best. We recognize that everyone here is here to learn and grow, including ourselves. Sometimes that means stretching our abilities and doing things that may seem hard.
-
Respect each other and ourselves: We facilitate a professional environment. That means we have to respect each other and ourselves.
-
We compliment each other, build each other up, speak and act positively about others and refrain from any activities that could bring another participant down or cause someone to want to end their participation with Encore. We also respect each other’s feelings and emotions.
-
We also respect ourselves enough to talk positively about ourselves and give grace when mistakes are made.
-
We also respect all members of the cast, crew and staff by listening attentively, showing good manners and communicating in respectful manners.
-
Are dedicated: All participants strive to make the production a priority and come to rehearsals and performances with the mentality of hard work and dedication. While at rehearsals and performances, our minds are present and focused on what is going on and expected. Assignments are taken seriously and prepared for when asked.
-
Have Fun: At Encore, we have fun. This is meant to be a fun and enjoyable experience for all involved. There are hard times through every production, but through that, we can still have a good time and build lasting friendships and relationships.
-
Value Growth: Nothing ever changes if nothing changes. We strive for growth in everyone who participates with Encore, young and old. It is important to push ourselves and help ourselves to grow in ways that we might not have seen possible. We also make room for others to grow by allowing a space where mistakes can be made, and fixed.
-
Work as a team: We want everyone to be a team player. Everyone has an important role to play, and every role, large and small, is critical to the team’s success. No one is more or less important to the success of the production than anyone else.
-
Have integrity: Be honest, trustworthy, trust and be trusted, and demonstrate strong moral principles. This will help to create the respect and build the relationships that make Encore and productions successful.
-
Are Professional: This means that the way we present ourselves is always in a professional and becoming way. We speak with respect, and refrain from any vulgar language or language not appropriate for a professional setting. This includes written and verbal language. We act with respect, never doing anything that excludes, puts down or hurts another person or persons. We are prompt and present to all rehearsals and performances unless excused beforehand.
